Finished the music video for DRAGON BREATH a few days as part of the ILL LITERATURE E.P coming out soon.
Three Verses and Choruses with over 400 words manually added for the Video. I’m glad to have it done and dusted to be honest. Now on to the next one…
The Scribes with their Exposure Music Award for “Best Urban Act”.
Fresh for the upcoming shows with Freshly Squeezed over the next few weeks.
I’ll be adding a list of all the gig dates on here in a few days so watch this space.
A few days ago I hit a Thousand tweets. As I said on Facebook, considering how much I rant that I don’t use Twitter, this seems to be a slight contradiction.
I suppose this is as good a time as any to come out of my Tweeting closet.
Just caught a short video of Michael Collings recording some parts for one of the songs I played on last year. The grapevine tells me a small release will be out soon so expect a shout out from me then.
If you missed my older post on what this is all about, you can find it here.
Momentum.
Going through the hard drives and noticed there’s a good 12+ projects that still haven’t gone out yet. Some are one off tracks, some are E.P’s, and a select few are full album’s.
Added some more material to this collection earlier this afternoon. Finally looking like at least ONE of these projects will be going out soon.
Stop sitting on this material and get it mixed and out there people!! You’re making it look like i’ve been doing nothing all year ;)
Sorry to hear Jim Marshall died today. I had an old beat up Marshall Cab for a good few years and it never let me down once. Feel lucky to have shook hands with the man that started it all! (2002 - 12 years old!) R.I.P
Going through my certificates and found this bad boy! Shame my Guiness world record had to be for something so random though…
Happy Mothers Day to my Beautiful mum x
Happy Paddy’s Day
America Diaries (SXSW) Part 1/2
Crazy to think this was two years ago now. Time flies…
Me with Bass legend Guy Pratt who’s played for Pink Floyd, Madonna, The Smiths and Michael Jackson just to name a few…
Never met a funnier more humble guy!
So you want me to join your band?
I find it funny when checking out people claiming to be serious musicians (usually when having an offer to start a band or sometimes when I’m just scouting Facebook looking for local musos myself). However, when having a quick scan of their Facebook profile, I see no trace of music in their life at all. No links to audio or videos, not even a single snap of them with a insert instrument here (which they claim to play by the way).
This tiny rant isn’t aimed at anyone in particular, but this is a mistake I seem to be coming across time and time again in the last few months.
Now I know better than to judge a book by its cover, but in this case content is always the key. Can you expect anyone to take the time to meet up and jam with you on the off chance you may be any good? The fact is, if out of your 600+ photos there isn’t a single picture of you and an instrument, then you’re most likely going to be turned down when you approach people asking to start a band. It’s a shame but it’s unfortunately true.
On the other hand if you’re a casual player just looking to start a band to get chicks or to have some fun with your mates, then please ignore this whole post. It’s all good! Just don’t expect the chicks to come running like in one of those Lynx adverts.
Anyway, it’s gone 4am so I’m probably just irritable from tiredness. Be cool to hear anyones thoughts on this though.
